Having written your letter and sealed it in an envelope ‘shred’ it as follows.

Cut thin shreds across one corner.

Then turn the envelope round and cut across the next corner.

Keep working round and at the same time keep removing any ‘points’ that form.

Another method is to cut well into the envelope and then cut diagonally across those cuts to form small ‘diamond shapes’ of waste.
